Nothing can be said about the Light, but anyone with true desire can experience it.
It is the spiritual and the divine, it is illumination and intelligence. Light is the source of goodness and the ultimate reality, and it accompanies transcendence into the Higher Consciousness. It is the SUN, and it is the avenger of evil forces and darkness. Light is knowledge. Cosmic energy, creative force and optimism are all related to light.
Light, then, is Life’s first expression, is the symbol of God’s Truth. It is the emanation of what we call God. God is all that there is and so Light is the quintessence of God’s expression everywhere, in everything.
In philosophy and in the sacred books Light alone is used as the symbol of Man’s highest blessing. Here are some relevant quotations about the Light from the scriptures.
Chandogya-upanishad:
Those who have lived a life of self-discipline, with their minds on the highest thoughts, and have thereby acquired a pure heart, can see this light. They see it within themselves and they also see it outside. They know this light as their own Self and as the Self of all. They know this light as Para Brahman.
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad:
The Light of the Lights: The Self is the pure awareness that shines as the light within the heart, surrounded by the senses. It is this Self that is one with the Sole Reality, the Brahman. This Self is free from desire, from evil and from fear. The man who is union with the Self sees without seeing, smells without smelling, tastes without tasting, speaks without speaking, hears without hearing, touches without touching, thinks without thinking, knows without knowing, for there is nothing separate from him. This state of not having another is the state of unity, one without a second and that is the world of Brahman. This is the supreme goal of life, the supreme treasure, the supreme joy.
